The Challenge
Opening a new office with a complete IT infrastructure involves overcoming various challenges, from networking to repositioning power points and managing tight deadlines. With proper planning, execution, and collaboration, these challenges can be effectively managed, paving the way for a successful office launch.
Information technology is crucial to the company’s operations; any downtime would prevent it from providing financial services to its clients. Client relies on the most up-to-date data and requires its systems to be fast and reliable.
They needed to build an IT infrastructure with 25 end-user terminals that could easily accommodate additional users joining the network over the next few months.
The deadline for opening the office was extremely tight; any delay would have significantly harmed the business.
The building itself posed challenges since it was Grade II listed, meaning any installation work required the highest standards and quality.
What did
Vibework do
Although the bid was open to several specialist suppliers, Vibework Limited provided the best solution. After discussing the business requirements and associated costs, Vibework advised on the optimal system for their needs.
All IT hardware, including desktop PCs, printers, scanners, network connections, network storage devices, switches, and routers, was installed. Initially, we set up 10 terminals, each with 4 monitors. This installation was carried out over the weekend to ensure the client could thoroughly test their system before launch. Everything was set up within one week, as per the agreed schedule.
Office Network Infrastructure – T
By converging the office network, Vibework allowed multiple services (voice, data, internet, VPN, video, etc.) to use the same infrastructure.
The building itself posed challenges since it was Grade II listed. Therefore, an electrical health and safety plan, along with a risk assessment sheet, was provided to ensure everyone adhered to the standard working procedures on site
